With the aim of reviving old values in Vietnam’s history and sharing them with the younger generation, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Trong Duong delivered a meaningful talk on the topic of “chữ Nôm” at the main stage of ???? ????????. “Chữ Nôm” is a cultural heritage that has existed for thousands of years and continues to show its importance in Vietnam today.
Through a relatable storytelling style, along with vivid films and visual pictures of “chữ Nôm”, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Trong Duong took the audience on a journey through the heroic events of Vietnam during the era of “chữ Nôm”. His talk inspired feelings of nostalgia, curiosity, and deep thinking among the audience.
Known as the historian who pierced the past, Dr. Trần Trọng Dương identified two important ??????????? in Vietnamese culture and language: the shift from ‘chữ Nôm” to the modern Vietnamese script and the potential for “chữ Nôm” to grow in the future. He left the audience with a thoughtful question: ?? “???̛̃ ??̂?” ???? ? ?????????? ?? ??? ????, ?? ??? ?? ???? ?? ??? ?????? ?? ??? ????, ???????, ??? ??????? Associate Professor Dr. Trần Trọng Dương is the author of numerous significant research works in the field of Sino-Nôm studies, covering ancient texts, inscriptions, and various historical and cultural materials. He has led and participated in several major research projects that have enabled the academic community to access valuable sources and helped spread knowledge of Sino-Nôm to the general public.His research not only sheds light on forgotten cultural values but also opens up new approaches that make these heritages more accessible to modern life. As a lecturer, he continuously inspires younger generations with his passion, encouraging them to explore and carry on the legacy of heritage research.
