Congruence and the Convergence of Hope | Dr Preeya Daya | TEDxDurban

Dr Preeya Daya explores how living in alignment with one’s authentic self becomes the fertile ground where hope can genuinely take root and flourish. Drawing on her expertise in values-based leadership, coaching, and organisational behaviour, she unpacks practical tools and frameworks that help individuals cultivate deeper self-awareness and capability to live congruently. By doing so, she illustrates how inner alignment not only sustains personal hope but also empowers people to foster hope within teams and organisations, ultimately creating spaces where purpose and high performance converge. Dr Preeya Daya is an educator, researcher, and consultant specialising in Leadership, People Management, and Organisational Behaviour. Her work focuses on empowering values-driven, conscious leaders to build purpose-led organisations where employees are engaged and achieve high performance. She holds a Doctorate in the Philosophy of Business Administration from the University of Cape Town, where her research examined the relationship between diversity, inclusion, and organisational performance. Preeya is also a Certified Integral Coach (Centre for Coaching) and a Certified Enneagram Practitioner (Five Lens Enneagram).Dr Daya is a Research Associate at the Allan Gray Centre for Values-Based Leadership, where she contributes to initiatives that advance conscious, values-driven leadership. She is the Academic Director and a Board Member at Achievement Awards Group, chairs the Values Stream for the G20 for South Africa in 2025, and serves on the boards of the Institute of Natural Resources and the Durban Chamber of Commerce, where she leads the Human Resources Chapter. Her research centres on Diversity and Inclusion, Employee Engagement, and Conscious, Values-Based Leadership. Dr Daya has published extensively, including peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and co-edited 12 Lenses into Diversity in South Africa. She is currently working on a book series titled Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Transformation in South Africa.
