Bouncing back from hospital beds to resilience | Quang Thịnh Phùng | TEDxFTU Hanoi
Phùng Quang Thịnh opened the 2nd session with the topic "???????? ???? ???? ???????? ???? ?? ??????????". It is an inspiring personal story of a young basketball enthusiast who overcame life's setbacks to embark on a journey of rediscovering strength and purpose.
Once felt overshadowed by his peers and yearning for recognition, basketball gave Thịnh the sense of purpose he sought. However, a major turning point came when he was diagnosed with bradycardia and required a pacemaker implant. This forced him to give up many familiar activities and confront the physical limitations of his condition.
From a state of despair and fear, he gradually shifted his perspective thanks to stories from other patients and by taking time to reassess his challenges and change his mindset. Thịnh adjusted his lifestyle, found a way to continue engaging with basketball in a suitable role, and embraced gratitude for what life offered.
The speech concluded with a powerful message: embrace the "breakpoints" in life as opportunities for renewal and growth. It is our mindset, not the adversities we face, that determines how we overcome challenges.
"????? ????????? ?? ???? ?? ? ???????? ?? ????????" Every year, ???? ????????'s features an impressive lineup of high-quality speakers. However, we have always been on the lookout for a voice that can represent students and accompany young people on their journey of self-discovery. That person is none other than ???̀?? ????? ???̣?? – the champion of the ???????????? 2024 competition! Thịnh has shared his life story, detailing his journey of battling through days sick in bed and then continuing to nurture that flame, improving himself daily to become the best version of himself. He convincingly earned the highest title in this year’s ???????????? competition. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Maria Paula is a psychologist. - 14:58Empathy is not what you think — and that’s the problem | Maria Alejandra Espinosa | TEDxTES YouthEmpathy is often seen as something soft, emotional, even optional, a nice-to-have in a world ruled by logic and efficiency. But what if we’ve misunderstood its real power? Empathy, when redefined, can become a driving force behind meaningful, lasting change. It should not only be seen as a feeling, but as a tool for questioning, understanding, and rebuilding the systems around us. Maria Alejandra is a 10th Grade TES student. A veces, revela. Lucia Caceres is an 8th Grade TES student. Jhon is a systems engineer who will be talking about how it feels to live on the autism spectrum. - 14:58Why your purpose goes beyond you | Juan Sebastian Poveda | TEDxTES YouthSome ideas remind us that personal growth is never just personal. That the fire that drives us, when nurtured with honesty and persistence, can lead to something greater—something that extends quietly beyond our own ambitions. In a world that often pushes us to chase success for its own sake, we forget that real purpose doesn’t need to be loud or heroic. It simply asks to be true. Our combined passions naturally propel us forward when we pursue our purpose with clarity and consistency — revealing that staying true to it might be the most generous gift we can offer the world.
