Curiosity in science | Sergey Makarov | TEDxQMDS Qingdao Youth

science is full of being curios towards everything Sergey Makarov received a Ph.D. degree in 2014 in the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Russia). He is a Professor, Head of “Laboratory of Hybrid Nanophotonics and Optoelectronics” at ITMO University (Russia), and co-director of “International Joint Research Centre for Nanophotonics and Metamaterials” at Qingdao Innovation and Development Centre of Harbin Engineering University (China). The topics of his research activity include nanophotonics, halide perovskites, laser-matter interaction, nanotechnology, and optoelectronics. He is a co-author of more than 300 publications, has received many prestigious awards for his research, including the Russian Presidential Award, the Saint Petersburg Government Award, “Research Excellence Award” given by Elsevier publishing company, as well as the Chinese National-level and Provincial-Level Talents Awards.
